History

In 2002 the leadership at San Antonio Credit Union saw an opportunity to serve its membership and other prospective home buyers across the country by offering competitive financing terms for manufactured housing. Starting with a handful of loans, two regional offices and a few long-time industry professionals, CU Factory Built Lending laid the ground work for our motto of offering “Affordable Loans for Affordable Homes”.

In the years since we have done some growing; in 2004, when Chase Bank ceased its operations in manufactured home lending, CUFBL quickly acquired the staff and facilities in Seattle, Washington as well as personnel from their Houston location. This acquisition represented years of experience and expertise and was instrumental in our goals of becoming the lender of choice for those looking to refinance or purchase a manufactured home.

Seeing another opportunity to reach an even larger segment of manufactured home buyers or those looking at refinance options, CUFBL acquired Mountainside Financial in 2010, one of the leading brokers in the industry. The addition of Mountainside added origination offices in St. Albans, Vermont and Aurora, Colorado, as well as, several long-time manufactured home loan professionals dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer service.

Today CU factory Built Lending is one of the nation’s strongest lenders in the manufactured housing industry. We have a full time staff of over 120 professionals in five different locations across the United States dedicated to helping you achieve the dream of home ownership. At CU Factory Built Lending our goals don’t include being the biggest lender, but the one that offers the manufactured home buyer the highest level of service and the greatest value for their hard earned dollar. Our mission is to improve the financial condition of our members through education, awareness and responsible lending practices.
